Letter of Intent for Tissue Microarrays
To receive tissue microarrays from the resource, you must first send a Letter of Intent (LOI) that contains:
- Your name, (must be at or above assistant professor or equivalent), institution, surface mail and email address, and telephone number.
- Type of TMA requested (i.e. TMA 4 Ethnicity)
- Total number of array sets requested. (Each array set consists of four slides from two replicate TMAs of two blocks each. Each prostate cancer is represented by 2 samples on each of the replicate sets.)
- Scientific and statistical justification for the number of array sets requested.
- A statement of the aims/hypothesis of the proposed research.
- A description of the technical approach, the measurement techniques/reagents - Have the specific techniques and reagents been used in paraffin-embedded sections; if so, has the data been published (provide citation)?.
- Background information about the marker(s) to be evaluated - Describe the marker, how it was discovered, why it was selected for testing and any appropriate publications.
- Evidence that the marker(s) is related to prostate cancer - preliminary data suggesting its importance.
